Two Fatalities at Piedmont Mining’s Georgia Mine
Two employees of Piedmont Mining, LLC died in an accident at a mining location in Warren County.
According to the Warren County Coroner’s Office, the victims were 24-year-old Charquavian Bloodsaw and 25-year-old Damian Ashberry, both from Tennille, Georgia, in Washington County.
According to the Warren County Cononer’s Office, the preliminary cause of death in the accident was that both Bloodsaw and Ashberry were electrocuted. At the time of the accident, the men were operating an industrial dump truck.
Because this is a work-related accident, both deceased have been scheduled to be autopsied.
According to the company, emergency response personnel and Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) were contacted immediately after the accident.
“MSHA is investigating the accident, and Piedmont Mining LLC is fully cooperating with that investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of the two individuals who have died as a result of this tragic accident. We are committed to determining how the accident happened and what can be done to prevent a reoccurrence in the future,” said the company in a statement.
