Trigg Minerals Limited has appointed Wiehann Kleynhans as vice president, U.S. Downstream Operations. Kleynhans will lead Trigg’s smelting and processing strategy in North America. His appointment follows Trigg’s recent acquisition of the Antimony Canyon Project (ACP) in Utah.

“Our ability to attract a candidate of Wiehann’s caliber is a testament to the quality and potential of our two major antimony projects and the team we are assembling to take these projects forward. Wiehann is an antimony specialist with years of experience in negotiating offtake deals and understands the market forces for this commodity, and we are excited to bring his level of expertise to our team,” said Trigg Minerals Managing Director Andre Booyzen.

“Our focus is on taking the Antimony Canyon and Wild Cattle Creek projects into development and executing the strategy that will bring our company and shareholders the best value from that process. Wiehann will help us achieve that,” added Booyzen.

Wiehann Kleynhans is an experienced geologist, resource and commodity analyst and dealmaker with deep experience in the global antimony sector. From 2021 to 2024, he was head of Business Development at Strategic & Precious Metals Processing (SPMP) in Sohar, Oman, where he played an instrumental role in driving expansion and growth of international sourcing and supply chains for raw antimony as a member of the executive management team. He oversaw the establishment of a global business development team, actively engaged in commercial negotiations and was involved in numerous off- take agreements.

Kleynhans also developed and executed a global feedstock sourcing and trading strategy based on analysis and understanding of the international antimony market and fostered trusted business relationships with current and new suppliers to position SPMP as a global player in the antimony market.

Recently, Kleynhans has been working as an independent antimony market specialist, based in South Africa. Previously, he held business development manager, performance improvement and operational readiness roles at MMG Limited and was associate director, Corporate Finance at Ernst and Young (EY) in South Africa.

In his role at Trigg, Kleynhans will develop a strategy for North America, which will include options for downstream processing (smelter); form partnerships with key industry and government players in North America; identify and negotiate possible offtake agreements with international antimony traders; assist Trigg with obtaining U.S. government funding for exploration and development and assist with due diligence on future antimony projects.

As demand for antimony continues to rise due to its critical role in renewable energy, defense, and high-tech industries, Trigg Minerals is strategically positioned to become a key player in the global critical minerals sector. With a clear focus on advancing these high-potential assets, the company is committed to delivering long-term value for shareholders while contributing to essential supply chains in a rapidly changing world.
