The Gorge Underground Opens Up Haunted Mine Tour, Kentucky

Spooky season is upon us. And for those of you looking for the ultimate thrill, how does a tour through a dark, creepy, zombie-infested mine sound?
The Gorge Underground takes people through a 100-year-old mine in the heart of the Red River Gorge, located in Wolfe County.
If you don’t find large, dark holes in the earth scary enough, for the month of October, the company is offering a “Haunted Mine Tour.”
The organizers describe it as a Halloween-inspired journey complete with “frightening music, décor and characters will have you at the end of your seat.”
So, prepare for some run-ins with zombie miners.
Those who dare to go will get to explore the mine both by boat and by foot. The tours run through the entire month of October. They last about an hour, and run daily with the first tour starting at 5 p.m. and the last at 11 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, it costs $75 a person, and Sunday through Thursday, it is $60.
Guests must be 8 years of age or older.
