Superior Industries Acquires VSI Crushing Manufacturer CEMCO

Superior Industries, Inc., a Minnesota-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk material processing and handling systems, has acquired CEMCO of Belen, New Mexico.

CEMCO is a 60-year-old manufacturing company and originator of the modern Vertical Shaft Impact (VSI) Crusher, which revolutionized production of high quality road-making material.

Today, CEMCO is recognized as a premier designer and manufacturer of VSI’s as it proudly serves customers in the aggregates, recycling, mining, and energy markets worldwide. In addition to its crushers, the company is well-known for outstanding customer service, high quality manufacturing, and incredible devotion to its employees. CEMCO’s original VSI is still in service today in New Mexico.

With the addition of the CEMCO’s VSI, a 140,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in New Mexico, and dozens of experienced employees, Superior takes another step in its goal of providing more opportunities for dealers and a diverse portfolio of proven products for producers. The CEMCO VSI is a much proven, highly trusted crusher with capacity rates up to 1,500 tons per hour and models ranging from 75 - 1,000 horsepower in single or dual drive packages.


From Rock Face to Load Out®, Superior Industries engineers and manufactures groundbreaking bulk material processing and handling equipment plus cutting-edge components. The 50-year-old manufacturer supplies bulk crushing, screening, washing, and conveying systems plus all related parts and services for industries like aggregates and mining. In addition to manufacturing from its hometown in Morris, Minnesota, Superior operates three additional U.S. facilities, plus international factories in Brazil and China.
