Resolution Minerals’ Antimony Ridge Project Gains FAST-41 Transparency Project Status, Idaho
The Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council (Permitting Council) said the latest mining project to gain FAST-41 transparency status is Resolution Minerals’ Antimony Ridge Project.
The project is expected to produce a critical supply of antimony, essential to addressing vulnerabilities in the U.S. supply chain. Antimony Ridge, a high-grade, past producing antimony project is located within the company’s Horse Heaven Project.
“I am thrilled to welcome the Antimony Ridge Mine project as the 56th FAST-41 mining project,” said Emily Domenech, Permitting Council Executive Director.
“Establishing a reliable domestic supply of antimony is vital to U.S. competitiveness and will help reduce dependence on foreign adversaries. I look forward to working with project sponsor Resolution Minerals to ensure a transparent, responsible, and efficient permitting process for this critical project,” added Domenech.
“Antimony is a key component in the production of defense weaponry and energy technology. I am pleased to see the Antimony Ridge Project receive FAST-41 transparency status. Ensuring we have a strong domestic supply of this natural resource — sourced right here in Idaho in an environmentally friendly way — is vital to U.S. national defense and economic security,” said U.S. Congressman Russ Fulcher.
Located in Valley County, Idaho, the project aims to restart a past-producing antimony mine that was active during World Wars I and II. Project sponsors intend to provide a near-term domestic supply of antimony to support federal efforts to secure a domestic source of critical metals. Developers anticipate extracting a minimum of 500 tons of high grade antimony ore from the historic pit area.
“Antimony Ridge is a high-priority development project for antimony, a key critical mineral, urgently needed for U.S. military and industrial applications. It is located in a friendly, tier-one jurisdiction in the center of Idaho,” said Craig Lindsay, Resolution Minerals’ CEO - U.S. Operations.
“The project’s inclusion on the federal permitting dashboard means Antimony Ridge is well positioned to advance efficiently through permitting. Resolution Minerals is grateful for the Permitting Council’s selection, which provides enhanced transparency and a public timeline for federal environmental reviews and authorizations,” added Lindsay.
Once Resolution’s plan of operations is approved, we plan to immediately commence a significant bulk sampling program of high-grade antimony ore and conduct an extensive drilling program. Antimony Ridge is expected to be a cornerstone of Resolution’s strategy to supply critical metals, including antimony, tungsten, and fold, from central Idaho in the USA,” concluded Lindsay.
The U.S. Forest Service serves as the federal permitting lead for this project. Learn more about this project on the federal permitting dashboard HERE.
The Permitting Council coordinates federal environmental reviews and authorizations for projects that seek and qualify for FAST-41 coverage. FAST-41 covered projects are entitled to comprehensive permitting timetables and transparent, collaborative management of those timetables on the Federal Permitting Dashboard. FAST-41 covered projects may be in the energy production, electricity transmission, energy storage, surface transportation, aviation, ports and waterways, water resource, broadband, pipelines, manufacturing, mining, carbon capture, semiconductors, artificial intelligence and machine learning, high-performance computing and advanced computer hardware and software, quantum information science and technology, data storage and data management, and cybersecurity sectors.
