Murray Energy to Close Powhatan No. 6 Mine in November, Ohio

Murray Energy Corporation spokesman Gary Broadbent says The Ohio Valley Coal Company’s Powhatan No. 6 Mine will close in November.
Broadbent says the mine was previously slated for closure in July, but its life has been extended by a few months.
The closure could leave more than 400 coal miners unemployed.
According to Broadbent, the company plans to transfer some of these employees to other operations, however, most of them will be laid off.
