Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas plans to expand its NorthAmerican equipment lineup with three articulated dump trucks (ADTs) through a collaboration with Bell Equipment.

Plans to launch models ZD30, ZD45, and ZD50 (30 to 50 tons) are scheduled to launch in the early summer of 2027 followed shortly with offerings from 20 to 60 tons and will be supported by Hitachi’s dealer network across the United States and Canada.

“We’re excited to continue expanding our equipment lineup in North America with three new ADT models,” said Simon Wilson, chief operating officer of Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas.

“Bell’s reputation for quality, reliability and proven ADT engineering makes these machines an excellent addition to the LANDCROS lineup. Just as importantly, this expands the solutions our dealers can offer, helping them serve the needs of top-tier customers in their markets and strengthening their position as a full-line equipment partner,” added Wilson.

North America represents the world’s largest market for articulated dump trucks, with an estimated annual demand of 5,000 to 6,000 units. The addition of these new models positions Hitachi to compete in the equipment classes that account for approximately 90 percent of the North American ADT market.

The addition of articulated dump trucks marks an important step in Hitachi’s strategy to expand its equipment offerings and strengthen its position in the North American market. For customers working on large-scale earthmoving, quarry, and infrastructure projects, the new ADTs help complete the jobsite. Contractors can now source excavators, wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks through one dealer network, with consistent access to parts, service and support.

Bell Equipment brings more than 26 years of experience in the North American ADT market, along with established expertise in product development, manufacturing and aftermarket support. Having previously supplied Hitachi-branded equipment and also working closely with many Hitachi dealerships around the world, Bell is a proven partner with an established relationship. Bell technical specialists will also support the North American rollout.

“Bell Equipment has a long history working with Hitachi Construction Machinery and we have the highest respect for the company, its people, culture, and products. We also know that these industry-leading ADTs, and the Hitachi range of loading tools pair extremely well,” said Izak van Niekerk, CEO of Bell Equipment.

“As an ADT specialist our product development focuses highly on the end user experience and this collaboration will allow for more dealers and contractors, in the highly competitive North American market, to benefit from the innovation, features, and performance that we have worked hard to bring to market,” added van Niekerk.

POWER AND DURABILITY

• The class-leading engine output and torque performance handle demanding haul cycles.

• Articulation joints are designed specifically for high-load applications. They use hightensile steel and widely spaced tapered roller bearings for added strength.

STANDARD SAFETY TECHNOLOGY

• On-board weighing shows the operator the load in real time during loading.

• Bin tip prevention monitors the rear chassis angle during dumping. If the angle is too great, increasing the risk of a rollover, a warning displays on the monitor and automatically stops the bed from rising.

• Geofencing works through the fleet management system. It can block entry into restricted areas, set speed limits by zone, mark dump-prohibited areas, and help prevent theft.

SERVICEABILITY

• A 10-inch color monitor displays operating status, safety warnings, and troubleshooting information, and gives the operator access to vehicle function settings.

• Grease nipples are centralized and can be reached from ground level, which makes routine maintenance faster.

On April 1, 2027, Hitachi Construction Machinery will officially transition to the LANDCROS name and brand. While machines will carry new branding, the company’s manufacturing processes, product offerings, warranty policies and dealer relationships will remain unchanged. Customers can continue to expect the same reliable equipment and support under the LANDCROS name.
