Harsco Corporation has added a five-year contract extension of its steel mill services in Belgium at the Châtelet site of Aperam. The balance of the current contract and the five-year extension are together valued at more than $100 million in projected revenues over the contract duration.

The extension continues Harsco’s decade-long service at the Châtelet mill, among Aperam’s largest operations and widely considered one of the most efficient stainless steel facilities in Western Europe. Harsco will continue to provide a broad array of core services in support of the mill’s EAF stainless steel production, ranging from onsite scrap yard management and slag transport to the handling and grinding of production slabs from the mill’s continuous caster.

Harsco’s Metals & Minerals division is the largest and most comprehensive provider of onsite material processing and environmental services to the worldwide metals industry, with operations at approximately 140 customer sites across more than 30 countries. The division is a technology partner to cleaner, more efficient metal production, providing customers with economically and environmentally viable solutions for the treatment and reuse of production waste streams.
