Fatality at Nyrstar’s Zinc Mine in Tennessee

A zinc miner is dead after an accident at the Young Mine off Andrew Johnson Highway in Jefferson County.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration classified the accident as “machinery”.
The zinc mine is operated by Nyrstar Nevada.
It’s the same company that operates a Knox County mine where a Kentucky man died in February.
