Encina Solutions Appoints Charles Costenbader as President & Chief Financial Officer

Encina Solutions, LLC has appointed Charles Costenbader as president and chief financial officer.
Charles Costenbader brings strong international experience during his work in Shanghai, China as the chief operating officer of Synthesis Energy Systems, Inc., a publicly traded entity listed on NASDAQ. Previously Costenbader had served as chief financial officer.
“I am pleased to welcome Charlie to Encina. Charlie has extensive experience in finance and operations in both public and private entities. He will play a central role in helping drive the development of the company’s petrochemical plants in North America, and their international expansion,” said David Schwedel, founder and executive director of Encina Solutions.

Costenbader has 25 years of physical asset operations and commodity risk management experience in the power generation, refining, natural gas storage, biofuels, demand response, and renewable energy sectors, including 10 years in the Structured Finance Group of GE Capital and 6 years in the energy commodities division at Macquarie Bank. He serves as a member of the board of directors for several energy companies in the United States, and holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.B.A. from Columbia University. He is a licensed professional engineer and has published a continuing education course for professional engineering license candidates titled “Design and Commissioning of Power Plants”. Costenbader is active in community services, including receiving the Legion of Honor distinction in recognition of his on-going 29 years of voluntary service in the VA Medical Center System with the United States Military Chaplains Service. He also serves as board chairperson for a 501C3 charity supporting local law enforcement.
