Empire Resources Ltd has appointed Steven Rodgers as project manager to oversee the commissioning and production start to the company’s new Penny’s Find gold mine, located northeast of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.

Rodgers has extensive experience in both open pit and underground mining projects having managed a number of such operations in Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.

PENNY’S FIND

Empire holds a 60 percent direct interest in the Penny’s Find gold project with the remaining 40 percent interest held by unlisted Brimstone Resources Ltd.

A bankable feasibility study has been completed on the project proposing conventional mining of a single open pit to a depth of 80 meters using excavators and dump trucks with ore transported to a nearby toll milling facility.

The study estimates $1.5 million capex for $7.6 million free cash flow over the open pit mine life of 11 months.

Penny Find’s mineralization extends to 250 meters below surface and remains open at depth.

Both oxide and fresh mineralization are free milling with 98 percent and 99 percent recoveries achieved in recent testwork respectively.

There is also a high gravity recoverable gold component, 53 percent for oxide and 85 percent for fresh.
