American Resources Corporation has added former Eli Lilly executive Daniel Hasler to the board of directors at its wholly- owned subsidiary, ReElement Technologies.

The appointment comes into effect when the spin-off to a standalone publicly-traded company is completed, but Hasler will join the ReElement Technologies advisory board immediately until the form 10 spin-off is completed.

Daniel Hasler had a 31-year career at Eli Lilly, serving in several leadership roles before his retirement from the pharmaceutical company. He was appointed by the then-Governor of Indiana, Mitch Daniels (Rep), as chief executive of the Indiana Economic Development Corp (and served as the state’s Secretary of Commerce).

In 2013, Hasler joined Purdue University as president and Chief Entrepreneurial Officer for Purdue Research Foundation, restructuring its technology commercialization processes.

“We are extremely excited and thankful to have the support of such an accomplished individual as Dan helping to guide ReElement at this pivotal and exciting moment of its business,” American Resources CEO Mark Jensen said in a statement.

“We have had the luxury of getting to know and collaborate with Dan over the past few years and believe he is a great fit for the fast-pace execution of ReElement, while also bringing a diverse mindset and experience to the business that will serve to make the company better and stronger. Furthermore, as we prepare to spin-off ReElement into its own public company, getting the board of directors established is a critically important step to continue leading the industry forward with producing battery and magnet grade elements at a commercial scale domestically,” added Jensen.

ReElement Technologies is focused on the recycling of end-of-life products such as rare earth permanent magnets and lithium-ion batteries, as well as coal-based waste streams and byproducts to create a low-cost and environmentally-safe, circular supply chain.
