Ambler Metals Appoints Ron Rimelman as President
Ambler Metals said Ron Rimelman will assume the position of president of Ambler Metals. In this role, Ron will lead the completion of the permitting process and advancing plans for development of the Arctic Project, and pursuing of additional exploration throughout the Ambler Mining District in partnership with NANA.
“Having been involved in environmental planning for projects in Alaska for many years, it’s an honor to continue leading responsible resource development in the Upper Kobuk as president of Ambler Metals,” said Ron Rimelman, president of Ambler Metals.
“I would like to thank managing director, Kaleb Froehlich, for his years of leadership of Ambler Metals. Under Kaleb’s leadership, Ambler Metals has successfully navigated a complex regulatory landscape to achieve significant progress for the Arctic Project and has built significant support with stakeholders throughout Alaska,” added Rimelman.
“I look forward to working alongside our world-class team to successfully complete permitting for the Arctic Project, which would create high-quality jobs and unlock significant economic opportunity in Alaska, particularly for local residents and shareholders,” concluded Rimelman.
Ron Rimelman brings more than 40 years of expertise in the environmental review and permitting of natural resource development projects across North America. In his previous position as senior director of Permitting, Rimelman has led the Ambler Metals team through federal permit application submission for the Arctic Project. Before joining Ambler Metals, he served as vice president of Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability at NOVAGOLD Resources, where he spearheaded permitting for the Donlin Gold project. His background in Alaska resource development includes previous work at the Red Dog, Kensington, and Greens Creek mines.
Rimelman also served as the president of the American Exploration and Mining Association and chaired its environmental committee for nine years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Kaleb Froehlich will continue to serve as managing Ddrector of Ambler Metals, working alongside Rimelman to advance the Arctic Project.
Ambler Metals is an independently operated joint venture formed by South32 Limited and Trilogy Metals for the exploration and development of the UKMP and advancing projects in the Ambler Mining District in collaboration with NANA. Ambler Metals is an Alaskan company with offices in Anchorage and Fairbanks.
