Raisbor, the oldest and largest raise boring contractor operating in the U.S. has marked its 50th anniversary this year. The company has launched a dedicated anniversary webpage to explore their journey.
The company started in 1973 with a single Robbins 41R rig. Since then, Raisebor has evolved with cutting-edge additions. Raisebor now has a sophisticated fleet, including additional 41R units, Robbins 61Rs, Ingersoll Rand RBM-7-SP-LH, Robbins 83 RM, and the latest addition, its Atlas Copco 123 RH.

Raisebor has shipped equipment via truck, train, barge, and ocean freight. Their Raisebor equipment is designed for efficient dismantling and re-erection underground, enabling them to access challenging locations promptly, saving customers valuable time and resources.
PIONEERING RAISE BORE DRILLING EXPERIENCE
Raisebor’s expertise in raise bore drilling is unparalleled, having likely drilled more dip angle raises than any other. Routine dip angles of 45 degrees attest to the company’s mastery of drilling procedures that enable the creation of straight holes even in the most challenging formations.
Raisebor takes pride in history of successful raise bore drilling projects, including diameters ranging from 6’ to 26’ and depths up to 3,000 feet.
The company also specializes in providing and installing steel casing and tunnel liner. They have installed casing strings as large as 110” diameter to a depth of 400’, 8′ diameter to 1,300′ deep, 6’ diameter to 760’, 4’ diameter to 1,400’.
