BROOKVILLE’s rail-mounted and rubber-tired mining and tunneling vehicles feature power supply options that include diesel engines, battery power or overhead catenary / trolley wire.

RAIL-MOUNTED VEHICLES
Currently, BROOKVILLE’s mining and tunneling rail-mounted vehicles are operated in mines and tunnels worldwide for coal, hard rock, precious metal and tunneling construction projects. BROOKVILLE offers mining and tunneling locomotives, personnel carriers, haulage tractors, maintenance vehicles, inspection jitneys, rockdusters, fuel buffalos, and a new lineup of articulated equipment. BROOKVILLE rail-mounted units vary in size, type, rail gauge, braking systems, axles, and can be made “explosion proof,” depending on the customer application.

RUBBER-TIRED VEHICLES


Available in four different configurations – haulage tractors, utility scoop, personnel carrier, or service vehicle, BROOKVILLE’s rubber-tired articulated equipment steers hydraulically, hinging in the middle, and allowing navigation on a tighter turning radius. BROOKVILLE’s rubber-tired units utilize an electronic/hydraulic system to provide conventional two-wheel and four-wheel steering mode that allows operators to easily shift trailing cars.

INDUSTRIAL SWITCHER LOCOMOTIVES
Aside from the company’s line of locomotives for use in underground applications, BROOKVILLE also offers custom-designed and manufactured industrial switcher locomotives featuring diesel-electric and diesel-hydraulic designs. Ideal for shuttling rail cars over short distances – such as within a facility or across short-line and regional railroads.
 
SAFETY STANDARDS


All of BROOKVILLE’s diesel-powered products have been approved by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). BROOKVILLE’s diesel exhaust management systems are designed to meet the state safety requirements in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

INNOVATIONS 

UNDERGROUND MINING VEHICLE RE-RAILING
BROOKVILLE’s LiftWalker ™and JackWalker™ are patented re-railing devices designed for underground mining locomotives. The LiftWalker and JackWalker technologies utilize hydraulics and a steel platform to allow the operator to reposition the locomotive equipment back on track without leaving the control station. This prevents head and back injury risks associated with conventional jack and bar re-railing procedures.

CO-GENERATION LOCOMOTIVES
BROOKVILLE’s CoGeneration™ series locomotives use up to three low-emission diesel engines controlled by a ‘Power on Demand’ feature. This unique engineering feat allows engines to go online or offline based on current locomotive power needs. When coupled with BROOKVILLE’s exhaust after-treatment, emissions can be reduced well below Tier 2 locomotive exhaust standards.

VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT
BROOKVILLE Services, LLC is the dedicated and contracted service group for all of BROOKVILLE’s custom-manufactured equipment. Established to meet the growing demand for preventative maintenance and to uphold BROOKVILLE’s high standard of customer satisfaction, BROOKVILLE Services is a dedicated group of on-the-road personnel who maintain BROOKVILLE units in the field under the organization’s Life Cycle Management program.
