Total Metals Appoints Veteran Mining Executive Dr. Andrew Ramcharan as President and CEO

Total Metals has appointed Dr. Andrew J. Ramcharan, PhD, P.Eng as president and chief executive officer and board director.
“I have been actively recruiting Andrew to join our executive leadership team for over a year, starting prior to the company’s listing on the TSX Venture Exchange,” said outgoing President and CEO Tyler Thorburn.
“I am thrilled that he has chosen to join us at this pivotal moment. Andrew is an exceptional leader who brings a 25-year track record of execution and value creation across the Canadian mining sector,” added Thorburn.
Dr. Andrew Ramcharan brings 25 years of experience across mining and exploration, corporate development, project evaluation, and investment banking. He began his career as a mine planner engineer with Dynatec, contributing to the start-up of the McCreedy and Levack Mines in northern Ontario. He subsequently served as manager, Corporate Development at IAMGOLD, where he supported equity financings exceeding $600 million and project acquisitions totaling over $800 million. In 2013, Dr. Ramcharan led the discovery of a major NI 43-101 compliant gold resource exceeding one million ounces in Panama.
His expertise spans investment banking and corporate finance, backed by senior roles at Sprott Resource Lending and Resource Capital Funds. Throughout his tenure, he conducted more than 300 project evaluations and oversaw numerous debt and equity financings. In his recent executive roles within the gold sector, he drove strategic growth initiatives that delivered an eightfold increase in share price across two junior exploration companies within 12 months.
Dr. Ramcharan boasts an equally distinguished academic record. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Mining Engineering, with prestigious academic credentials from the Colorado School of Mines, the University of Leoben, and the Harvard Business School Continuing Education Program. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, and a Fellow of both The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) and The South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM).
Total Metals is focused on developing and advancing its high-grade gold and critical mineral assets located in Eastern Canada. The Electrolode Project is targeting high-potential critical mineral plus gold resources and targets in three favorable geologic trends, located near major mines in the Red Lake Gold camp and is strategically located between Kinross Gold’s Great Bear Project and First Mining Gold’s Springpole Project. The Electrolode Project is fully permitted for exploration drilling and hosts ten historic mineralized zones with significant expansion potential plus new, untested targets ready for further exploration. Total Metals also owns 100 percent of the High Lake and West Hawk Lake Project covering 958 hectares in two gold properties located along the Trans-Canada Highway straddling the Manitoba / Ontario border.
