Strata Worldwide to Showcase New Equipment at Longwall USA
Strata Worldwide will be an exhibitor at the Longwall USA show in Pittsburgh, June 13-15 where, for the first time, it will highlight its new ownership of the A.L. Lee product line. Featured in the booth, will be two of the company’s more unique rock dusters: the H2O RAM Duster for wet dusting, and the tow-behind, fully permissible flinger duster, MS-100.
The H2O Ram Duster combines water with rock dust as it is applied, resulting in the spray of a dust-free mixture. This method enables mines to complete rock dusting on-shift, as it eliminates the airborne float dust that is a common hindrance to operations.
The MS-100 flinger duster is a mechanical, dual flinger unit that provides coverage up to 8 feet high and 16 feet wide. The unit is lightweight and can be easily towed behind any small personnel carrier, and with no electrical or hydraulic parts, it is simple, efficient and permissible to use.
Strata will also be showcasing its leading proximity detection system, HazardAvert®, highlighting the enhanced product components recently introduced to the market. Strata’s product line manager will be on-site to answer questions about the upcoming MSHA mandates involving proximity detection on continuous miners.
StrataConnect’s wireless gas detection and atmospheric monitoring elements will also be on display. This wireless system is ideal for monitoring CO levels along belt lines and other areas of concern in the mine, and it is fully approved by MSHA as Intrinsically Safe (IS).
Finally, the general manager of Strata’s signature roof support products will be available to talk about the different options and applications for the company’s timber, steel and concrete roof supports that are very popular in longwall mines around the world.
