Songer Services Promotes Gregg Preteroti to Chief Operating Officer

Effective January 1, 2016, VP of Operations Gregg Preteroti assumed the position of vice president and chief operating officer at Songer Services in Washington, Pennsylvania. The promotion of the 12-year Songer veteran validates a renewed focus on expanding Songer’s well-known industrial contracting footprint beyond integrated steel maintenance and repair.
“I’m proud to take another step within the Songer Services organization. We’re staying within the heavy industrial space, certainly, but are eager to prove that our integrated steel experience as an innovative general contractor with in-house engineers and a 100 percent union labor force offers advantages that other companies just don’t have,” said Preteroti.
“We believe in training tomorrow’s leaders many years in advance. Gregg has taken on roles of increased responsibility consistently for over 10 years, and his 27 on-site blast furnace repair projects have given him critical understanding and insight into both the operations and commercial view of our challenging climate,” said Songer President and CEO Joe Meneskie.
Preteroti credits the family-like atmosphere of the company, along with its attention to the hard detail work of project management and safety, as real difference-makers in current project negotiations.
