Permitting Process Meeting Scheduled for Paramount Gold and Calico Resources Gold Mine, Oregon
There are two meetings to be held locally this week involving regulating agencies which are involved with the permitting process for a proposed gold mine in Malheur County.
Tuesday, the Project Coordinating Committee is scheduled to meet from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Four Rivers Cultural Center in Ontario. This panel includes representatives of county, state and federal agencies which are involved in the consolidated permit process for the proposed mining project located south of Vale by Paramount Gold/Calico Resources.
The Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries is the lead agency in the consolidated permit application process.
The agenda for this meeting includes an update of the project, a review of the pre-feasibility study, coordination of state and federal permitting and a discussion of the environmental evaluation and socio-economic analysis.
There will also be a period for public comment, but only for people attending the meeting in person.
Wednesday the Technical Review Team, made up of representatives of state agencies that are reviewing documents related to the proposed mining operation and will review the consolidated permit application, are set to meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bureau of Land Management Vale District office in Vale.
The agenda will include a review of additional information needed for consolidated permit application and a public comment period, but only for people at the meeting in person.
