Pampa Energia announces that the Wholesale Electricity Market Company granted the commercial operation of the Thermal Power Plant Parque Pilar.

The announcement follows the Wholesale Power Purchase Agreement signed between CAMMESA and Pampa as awardee to the Tender for New Generation Capacity stipulated in the Secretariat of Electric Energy Resolution No. 21/2016.

The plant’s inauguration was carried out with the presence of Argentina’s President Mauricio Macri, the Governor of Buenos Aires Province María Eugenia Vidal, the Minister of Energy and Mining Juan José Aranguren, the mayor of Pilar Nicolás Ducoté, as well as all Pampa’s management, among other authorities.

The project, which consisted in building a new thermal power plant in the Pilar Industrial Complex (Pilar, Province of Buenos Aires), installing 6 Wärtsilä engines of ultimate generation and high efficiency, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW and able to fire either natural gas or fuel oil.

It is worth highlighting that said commissioning was achieved before the scheduled date agreed in the PPA, thus corresponding supply obligations began to be effective. Moreover, with this new addition Pampa has 10 power generation plants and 3,638 MW of installed capacity in Argentina.
