Metso to Acquire Valmet’s Mining Peristaltic and Cavity Pump Technologies Brand Flowrox™
Metso has signed an agreement to acquire peristaltic hose pump and progressive cavity pump technologies, as well as related aftermarket spare parts and service offering capabilities, from Valmet, a global technology leader in serving process industries.
“We are excited to welcome the new offerings as well as the team and their expertise to Metso. This acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver end-to-end slurry handling solutions, with stronger and complementing offering in demanding heavy-duty applications,” said Tiago Marques Oliveira, vice president, Pumps Business Line, Metso.
“In addition, it enhances our aftermarket and service capabilities as a long-term full lifecycle partner in key mining markets globally,” added Oliveira.
The acquisition strengthens Metso’s capabilities in slurry handling by broadening its portfolio with advanced pumping solutions for demanding process conditions in mining and industrial applications. The acquired business has a solid and growing installed base, generating stable aftermarket spare parts and service revenues.
The added hose pump technologies are particularly well suited for transferring and dosing of abrasive, corrosive, viscous, and crystallizing slurries in heavy mining applications where continuous flow, reliable performance, efficiency, ease of maintenance, and long wear life are critical. Typical applications include thickener underflow, filter feed, flocculant dosing, slurry sampling, and re-circulation.
With this acquisition, Metso enhances its ability to deliver comprehensive slurry handling and pumping solutions across the full mining flowsheet.
The acquisition is expected to close on October 1, 2026. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value.
The acquired products will be integrated into Metso’s pumps portfolio and rebranded under the Metso name. The products are currently sold under the Flowrox™ brand. Production will be transferred to Metso’s manufacturing facilities in Lappeenranta, Finland, with related personnel transferring to the same site.
Metso is a frontrunner in sustainable technologies, end-to-end solutions and services for the aggregates, minerals processing and metals refining industries globally. They improve its customers’ energy and water efficiency, increase their productivity, and reduce environmental risks with their product and service expertise. Metso is headquartered in Espoo, Finland. At the end of 2024 Metso had close to 17,000 employees in around 50 countries.
