Maximus Resources Reviews Lithium Potential at Spargoville Tenements, Western Australia
Maximus Resources is reviewing lithium occurrences within its Spargoville high grade gold tenements, located near two major lithium projects, Neometals’ Mt Marion project and Lithium Australia’s Lepiodolite Hill project.
Significantly, the Lefroy prospect could be situated within a similar structural setting to that hosting the Mt Marion Lithium ore resource.
Further exploration is required to confirm if the Lefroy prospect and other mapped pegmatites are similar to those of Mt Marion.
Maximus’ review of the extensive Spargoville database has also highlighted the potential for tantalum and niobium mineralization within its tenement boundaries.
Spargoville is located southwest of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
Ramelius Resources first looked at the possibility of additional minerals beyond gold, with assays from shallow augur drilling returning elevated levels of lithium, tantalum and niobium.
The emerging future demand for lithium has been a motivation for assessing the lithium potential within the northern tenements.
Maximus will complete its data review, before commencing ground based lithium exploration to advance this project.
The company may seek interest from current lithium producers or advanced explorers to partner in the program.
