Weir has appointed Marc Cameron as president of its Minerals Division.

“I am delighted to welcome Marc to Weir. His deep mining operations experience, combined with his global commercial and technology expertise, gives him a strong understanding of our customers and the challenges they face. I am confident that Marc will build on minerals’ leading technology portfolio and close customer relationships to accelerate growth,” said Andrew Neilson CEO, Weir.

Marc Cameron brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning mining operations, heavy equipment, technology-led solutions, and global commercial roles. Most recently, he was senior vice president, Resource Industries at Caterpillar, where he led the global commercial organization and drove growth through integrated, customer-focused solutions and services. He also led the expansion of Caterpillar’s portfolio of data-driven mining technology and software solutions.

Before joining Caterpillar in 2020, Cameron spent almost two decades with Rio Tinto where he held a number of senior operational and leadership roles. These included managing director, Rio Tinto Kennecott and president and chief operating officer of the Diavik Diamond Mine. Across these roles, he led large, integrated mining operations with responsibility for safety, operational performance, strategy development and execution, and talent development.

Originally from New Brunswick, Canada, Marc will be based in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Weir Group produces and sells highly engineered original equipment worldwide. It operates in two segments, minerals and ESCO. The minerals segment offers engineering, manufacturing, and service processing technology for the use in abrasive high-wear mining applications; and differentiated technology for the use in infrastructure and general industrial markets. The ESCO segment provides ground engaging tools for large mining machines. This segment also offers cloud-based artificial intelligence solutions to the mining industry; manufactures and distributes highly engineered wear parts; and offers aftermarket services to the mining industry.
