Greybull’s M-I SWACO bentonite mine recently was awarded the BLM’s top national environmental award for hardrock mining. The merits of the award are based on a company’s commitment to environmental excellence as demonstrated by innovative approaches and measurable performance.

The nomination of M-I SWACO for this award was prepared by the BLM Cody Field Office, selected as the top nominee by the Wyoming State BLM Office, and advanced to the U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington D.C. with final selection by an independent panel of science professionals.

M-I SWACO credits this award to the committed efforts of its operators and their supervisors, interaction of its field professionals, support of its local administration and environmental objectives of its parent company, Schlumberger.

M-I SWACO further credits its positive working relationship with the dedicated BLM professionals who have diligently worked alongside the company to achieve common goals.
