Global Energy Metals Corporation is strengthening its exploration team with the addition of Timothy Strong as project development manager, the Vancouver-based company said Wednesday.

Strong will oversee the company’s exploration activities at its Nevada battery metals projects and evaluate acquisition opportunities.

The new team member has over 10 years’ experience in design, implementation and management of gold and base metal exploration projects spanning 11 countries over four continents.

“Tim epitomizes the spirit of enthusiasm and innovation in exploration. Tim brings a considerable level of experience and expertise and his involvement will play an integral role in our advancement of our cobalt-nickel-copper projects in Nevada,” GEMC CEO Mitchell Smith said in a statement.

“This appointment further demonstrates our confidence in the company’s exploration strategy as we set in motion a plan to unlock value from our battery minerals discovery at the Lovelock project,” added Smith.

Global Energy Metals is advancing the Lovelock and Treasure Box projects to earn an 85 percent interest in the Nevada-based assets. A bulk sample taken by its partner Canada Cobalt Works from waste rock in the historic dumps in front of the Lovelock mine openings had undergone initial analysis resulting in assays of 0.2 percent cobalt, 0.2 percent nickel and 2.8 percent copper, the company recently reported.

“It’s a great opportunity to join Global Energy Metals at this very dynamic time in the company’s development,” Strong said in a statement.

“I’m looking forward to contributing to the upcoming exploration program in Nevada and be part of the company’s continued growth in the years to come as we develop the strong project portfolio held by GEMC,” added Strong.
