Fatality at Centerra Gold’s Kumtor Mine, Kyrgyz Republic

A fatality has occurred at Centerra Gold Inc.‘s Kumtor mine in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The individual, a mill employee, was fatally injured while working on the night shift January 24, 2016 at the ore conveyor in the Kumtor mill. An internal investigation has been started and the Kyrgyz police and relevant regulatory authorities have been contacted. Kumtor management is cooperating with the Kyrgyz regulatory authorities to determine the cause of the accident.
“Centerra and Kumtor are deeply saddened by this event and extend our deepest condolences to the individual’s family, friends and colleagues,” said Scott Perry, chief executive officer of Centerra.
