Coal Miners Rescued from Flood at Bandingliangta Coal Mine, China
Six trapped miners were lifted from a coal mine shaft on Saturday morning, three days after a flooding in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, according to the local rescue headquarters.
The miners were conscious and in stable condition when they were rescued at 9:59 a.m. Saturday. They have been rushed to a local hospital.
The flooding was reported at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday in a pit of the Bandingliangta Coal Mine in the resource-rich Shenmu County.
Of the seven miners working in the pit, only one managed to escape when the accident occurred.
