Murray Energy CEO Bob Murray says he and President Elect Donald Trump had a conversation earlier this week that he feels very positively about.

Murray has been a supporter of Trump, especially after Trump’s promises to rebuild the coal industry and put unemployed coal miners back to work.

Murray even hosted a private event in support of Trump in Wheeling earlier this year.

Now that Trump won the election, many people are wondering if he will fulfill his promises. Bob Murray says he will.

“He will follow through. He has the passion. He has the commitment. He certainly has a mandate for the working people of America, and particularly the coal miners. They’re the ones that got him elected,” said Murray.

Earlier this week, Murray spoke with Trump on the phone. Murray says he reminded Trump of his pledge not to listen to the “established politicians,” to which Trump reassured Murray not to worry.

“I said, ‘I don’t think you want me to share this conversation.’ And he said, ‘Oh, absolutely, I do! I want you to tell all your coal miners and all those wonderful people in Wheeling where you had that event for me, you tell them all I’ve got their back and I’m going to deliver,’” said Murray.

Murray also paid a visit to Washington, D.C. this week, where he says he will have some involvement in the administration transition.

Murray said that after their conversation, Trump ended the call by saying, “I love you, man.”
