Cowin & Company Inc. has specialized in all types of Mining construction since 1924. Over 80 years of experience specializing in shaft sinking, raiseboring, underground blasting, roof and highwall stabilization, mine fan and headframe construction, and all types of underground construction.

Shafts - Finished diameters have varied from a 36-foot surge shaft to an 8-foot diameter bleeder shaft. Depths have varied from less than 100 feet to close to a half a mile.
Slopes - Slopes of various sizes both from the surface to underground and underground from location to location. Lengths have varied from a couple of hundred feet to well over a mile.
Underground Bunkers and Surge Bins - Mechanical bunkers up to 2,000-ton capacity and Free Fall bunkers up to a 10,000-ton capacity or surge bins as small as 900 tons.
Hoist Installations, Headframes and Ventilation Fans - Systems from large multi-rope hoist and headframes designed to handle loads to 30 tons or more.
Lowering Equipment - Highly skilled and experienced with moving large and heavy objects underground.  This includes the specialized skills required to safely lower and raise equipment through mine shafts.
