The U.S. Transportation Department has approved Sentinel Midstream’s deepwater oil export project, Texas GulfLink, off the Texas coast. This project supports the Trump administration’s oil industry growth agenda, enabling the export of up to one million barrels of crude oil per day from a location 26.6 nautical miles off Brazoria County.

The U.S. Transportation Department gave a green light on Tuesday to Sentinel Midstream, authorizing its planned deepwater oil export project, Texas GulfLink, off the coast of Texas. This decision marks a critical milestone in efforts to advance the country’s energy export capabilities.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed in a statement to Reuters that this approval aligns with the Trump administration’s strategy to enhance the U.S. oil industry. With the Texas GulfLink project, the nation aims to significantly increase its oil export potential.

Located approximately 26.6 nautical miles off the coast of Brazoria County, Texas, the deepwater port is expected to facilitate the export of up to one million barrels of crude oil daily.
