Range Resources Ltd has confirmed the spudding of its latest well in Trinidad.

Drilling started on the LD-1 development well — which will be referred to as QUN-159 going forward — on August 8 at the Morne Diablo field.

The well will be drilled down to a depth of 2,500 feet to target the Lower Forest and Upper Cruse horizons. The program is expected to take around two weeks complete.

It is the third development well to be drilled for Range in Trinidad this year.

Two other recently drilled wells, MD-250 and MD-251, are scheduled for production testing during August and are due online for production during the third quarter.

Range also noted that three further wells are scheduled this year - one development well in Morne Diablo, one development well in Beach Marcelle, and one exploration well in the Guayaguayare block - and it continues to assist its contractor LandOcean as it seeks approval to add two additional new drilling rigs to the fleet.
