Nine Energy Service, Inc. has promoted David Crombie to chief operating officer and executive vice president effective January 1, 2019.

An oil and gas industry veteran and entrepreneur, David Crombie brings more than two decades of experience to his latest role at Nine. In his new role, Crombie will be responsible for overseeing operations across all of Nine’s service lines and geographies. Crombie will play a critical role in the continued development and execution of Nine’s strategic growth plan.

David Crombie brings a unique blend of industry experience and entrepreneurship to Nine beginning his career in the field and eventually founding and building a premier production string cementing company from scratch. Currently, Crombie serves as Nine’s president, Completion Solutions and executive vice president where he is responsible for overseeing operations for Nine’s Completion Solutions segment. Before joining Nine, Crombie founded Crest Pumping Technologies, LLC, and served as president. Prior to Crest, Crombie served as vice president of operations and Sales for Pumpco Energy Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Complete Production Services (now part of Superior Energy Services). In this role, he oversaw stimulation and cementing services in prolific, unconventional plays throughout the continental United States.
