Enterprise Shuts Down Pascagoula Natural Gas Processing Plant After Fire, Mississippi
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is investigating the cause of a fire that occurred at its natural gas processing facility in Pascagoula, Mississippi. There were no injuries nor impacts to the surrounding community and the fire was restricted to inside the facility. The situation is under control and the plant has been shut down. Enterprise personnel have been working closely with local emergency responders and the company has notified all appropriate regulatory authorities.
The Pascagoula plant receives natural gas from third party pipelines. The plant is comprised of three trains with approximately 1.5 billion cubic feet per day of capacity. The facility was averaging approximately 400 million cubic feet per day of inlet volumes. Enterprise is working with its customers and third party facility operators to keep them apprised of the situation and help determine other available options while the Pascagoula plant is out of service.
Enterprise assumed 100 percent ownership of the Pascagoula plant when it purchased the outstanding interest from BP during the first quarter of 2016.
