Delta Sands Unveils Plans for New Frac Sand Facility in the Western Haynesville, Texas

Delta Sands released plans for the construction of a new 3-million-ton-per-year wet sand processing facility strategically located near Buffalo, Texas, in the heart of the Western Haynesville Shale.
The project is designed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality in-basin proppant as natural gas development and infrastructure expansion accelerate across East Texas.
“Our mission is to deliver a dependable, high-quality proppant supply directly from the center of the play. This project builds on our proven model of efficiency and reliability, supporting both the energy industry and local economies as the Western Haynesville continues to grow,” said Bill Bowdon, CEO of Delta Sands.
The facility, currently in the design and permitting phase, will produce 40/200 mesh sand with an 8K crush strength and is expected to begin operations in April 2026. Once complete, Delta Sands will provide reliable, high-volume, regionally sourced sand to operators throughout the Western Haynesville, helping to reduce transportation distances and lower completion costs.
The company was founded by the team behind Performance Proppants, the first and largest regional sand producer in the legacy Haynesville Shale, bringing extensive operational experience and proven performance to the Western Haynesville.
Located just off I-45 and U.S. 79, the site offers direct logistical access to East Texas and Gulf Coast markets. Construction will commence later this year, with full commissioning scheduled for April 2026.
