Crude Oil Settles Higher Despite Record Stockpiles

West Texas Intermediate settled up 0.9 percent to US$32.15 a barrel overnight.

At one stage during the session the commodity was off 4 percent.

Driving the volatility was data showing another jump is U.S. stockpiles, with another 3.5 million barrels to total 507 million barrels.

This is an all-time peak.
