Turquoise Hill Resources Appoints Brendan Lane as Vice President, Operations and Development
Turquoise Hill Resources has appointed Brendan Lane as vice president, operations and development.
Brendan Lane brings 25-years of industry experience including metallurgical, mine engineering and commercial roles at Rio Tinto, Anglo American and BHP Billiton.
“Brendan’s extensive engineering and commercial background will be extremely valuable to Turquoise Hill and we are delighted to have him join our team. Working with the project team, he will play a critical role in the further development of Oyu Tolgoi,” said Jeff Tygesen, chief executive officer of Turquoise Hill.
Since 2013, Lane has served as Minera Escondida Limitada and Grasberg finance director at Rio Tinto Copper. In this capacity, he provided strategic guidance and decision support to operational management teams with joint venture partners BHP Billiton and Freeport-McMoRan. Previously, Lane held a variety of commercial roles in the Rio Tinto copper and coal business units as well as engineering positions at Anglo American and BHP Billiton.
Lane holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Queensland and a Master of Applied Finance degree from the University of Southern Queensland.
