The cause of death of a man found in the Rosebud Mine on Thursday is still under investigation, but authorities have ruled out foul play.

The man, who has not been publicly identified yet, is described as a white male.

The body was discovered by an employee of the mine around 11 a.m.

Rosebud County Sheriff Allan Fulton said rumors of the body belonging to a missing Northern Cheyenne tribal member is untrue.

Fulton said the man was decomposed, leading authorities to believe the body was there several days before being discovered.

His identity is expected to be released on Monday.

The man was not an employee of the mine and it’s not yet clear how or why he was at the site
