Dundee Sustainable Technologies Inc. (DST) has begun a piloting test program with eCobalt Solutions Inc. on a 3-ton bulk mineralized sample from the Idaho Cobalt Project (ICP). This testing is planned to test the successful removal of arsenic on a pilot level to less than 0.5 percent from ICP concentrates using DST’s pyrolysis approach, as demonstrated in previous bench scale testing.

The results of this additional testing is expected to provide eCobalt with feasibility level detailed engineering data to assist in costing and sizing of equipment to produce a clean cobalt concentrate with less than 0.5 percent arsenic using DST’s pyrolysis approach at eCobalt’s proposed Cobalt Production Facility. The piloting work will be conducted at DST’s facilities in Thetford Mines, Quebec, where previous laboratory work on ICP mineralized material identified that the it is amenable to pyrolysis to produce a clean, low arsenic, cobalt concentrate.

“DST is very pleased with the progress of the work results to the pilot scale testing with eCobalt on this important project. Arsenic removal, handling and safe disposal is important for most known North American sourced primary cobalt and represents a new opportunity for the corporation’s arsenic technology beyond the gold and copper projects that we are pursuing,” said Brian Howlett, president and CEO.

About Dundee Sustainable Technologies
The corporation is engaged in the development and commercialization of environment-friendly technologies for the treatment of materials in the mining industry. Through the development of patented, proprietary processes, DST extracts precious and base metals from mineralized material, concentrates and tailings, while stabilizing contaminants such as arsenic, which could not otherwise be extracted or stabilized with conventional processes because of metallurgical issues or environmental considerations.

DST has filed, published and was granted patents for these processes in several countries.
