The Coal Association of Canada and its Board of Directors has welcomed Mark Bartkoski as the new Chairman of the Association, effective immediately. Mr. Bartkoski replaces John Schadan, who has resigned from the Board of Directors to focus on the next stages of his career.

Bartkoski has sat on the Board of Directors of the Association since December 2016. He is the President of Conuma Coal Resources, a metallurgical coal producer based in northeast British Columbia that operates two mines near Tumbler Ridge with a third in development.

Mr. Robin Campbell, President of the Coal Association of Canada said that “Mark will bring extensive mining experience and proven leadership capability to the role of Chairman of the CAC’s Board of Directors. His ambition and vision will certainly benefit the Board and our members moving forward. The Board also joins me in giving sincere thanks to John Schadan for his years of service and dedication to the Association and wish him the absolute best in the future.”

Mr. Bartkoski said that he is “looking forward to building on the successful reputation of the Association” and applying his knowledge and expertise to the advancement of the industry.
