Offshore cargo carrying and A60 module company OEG Offshore (OEG) has secured new rental contracts for the provision of offshore cargo carrying units (CCUs) and Jet A-1 Fuel tanks to major projects in Australia.

OEG Offshore Pty Ltd. has secured a 5 year rental contract estimated to be worth AUD $3m for the supply of DNV 2.7-1 cargo units and helifuel tanks to support hook up, commissioning and future production from the Ichthys LNG project.

The offshore cargo units will be deployed on the new Ichthys LNG Project’s Central Processing Facility (CFP) and the Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility, both to be permanently moored in the Browse Basin for the life of the project.

In addition, DNV 2.7-1 drum baskets and portable chemical tanks, approved under IMDG / ADR & RID, have already been dispatched to an Asia Pacific based oil and gas exploration and production company.  To optimize freight and decrease costs for the customer, offshore tanks were secured into drum baskets for the onward journey to Darwin, Northern Territory by road train.

The offshore cargo units will support existing offshore production facilities at the Montara field, 250km north-west off the Kimberley coast of Western Australia.  The 3 year supply deal is estimated to be worth AUD $500k.

Dirk Alber, OEG Regional Director said, “I would like to praise the OEG team for the enormous amount of time and effort that went into preparing the Ichthys Project tender. We’re absolutely delighted that we’ve been successful, especially in the current challenging global market conditions. We’re now in close engagement with the customer to deliver the fleet of equipment required for the project’s Installation Hook Up and Commissioning (IHUC) as well as the on-going production operations.  All preparations are going as planned and our focus is to provide our customer with a high standard of cargo units and quality service.”

OEG Offshore’s range of DNV 2.7-1 transportable offshore chemical and Jet A-1 fuel tanks, containers, baskets, waste units and A60 cabins are available across Australasia.  They offer the same varied range of equipment for sale as well as rental, alongside a bespoke design service.
